I’ve been application this laptop for about a anniversary and all-embracing I am actual blessed with this purchase. The apparatus is fast, the awning is looks amazing (glossy, FYI), actual ablaze and no asleep pixels. Another additional is that there was not boundless bloatware on this unit, and I alone had to abolish a scattering of balloon software, un-needed apps and desktop shortcuts to apple-pie it up. The speakers complete good, and HDMI out is a nice advantage (though we’re absurd to use it). I like, too, that the alfresco of the case is matte, so it does not allure fingerprints.
I removed one brilliant for two key reasons:
- The keyboard is “soft”; we’re clicky-keyboard family. It’s blueprint is fine, comfortable, etc, but it will yield some time to acclimatize to the benevolence of this keyboard.
- I was clumsy to affix to my 5GHz wireless N network, but a few comments about this:
I accept a dual-band router (Linksys WRT600N), sending both G and N speeds separately. This Acer was clumsy to affix to the N, but the G affiliation was fine. Note that my plan laptop connects to the N arrangement after issue. I anticipate it may accept to do with a newer wireless chipset in this assemblage because, although it alone connects to G, it’s advertisement speeds of 130mbs (over the 54mbs 802.11G standard). Regardless, we’re blessed with the wireless achievement and acceleration so far, but black and arresting it didn’t “just work”.
I approved contacting Acer abutment and admitting I alone had the assemblage beneath that week, they declared that they did not accept assets to abetment me with this botheration and directed me to fee-based support. Frankly, I acquisition that a bit appalling. I appear to be adequately technical, but if you charge basal abutment from a company, it’s best to attending elsewhere. This was the capital acumen for the brilliant advancing off.
In summary, if you charge an affordable, full-featured laptop, this is a abundant option, but alone if you’re adequate digging out of your own abutment holes — Acer is not your acquaintance post-sale. Extra backdrop to Amazon (as always) for crediting me if the amount alone above-mentioned to my accepting the computer.
